Like parenthood - people are just expected to do it. In the main most people do a reasonable job. But, why risk reasonable?

There are principles. There are even a few rules which work most of the time - a little training and development can make dramatic differences.

So - what should a manager do? What is this leadership thing which most people believe applies to others and not them?

And what about motivation? Will someone please tell me how to get people to do what I want them to without a struggle - if only!
